Rewriting. Preparation for filmmaking and production

Candidates were selected on the basis of scripts for short films, with a three-week residential workshop offered to successful candidates.

The course was intended for scriptwriters-filmmakers preparing a short film. Participants developed their selected script during the workshop.

Under the guidance of experienced scriptwriters, participants worked together in a script-writing workshop where everyone joined in the critical evaluation of each others’ work. They also benefited from individual coaching on their own work. Daily sessions of film analysis added to the evaluation process in the writing workshop.

• Week 1 was dedicated to the writing of the scripts
• Week 2 was directed towards individual work with consultants acting as tutors, as well as preparation for production and filmmaking - assisted by filmmakers, first assistant, director of photography, sound engineer, continuity and editor.
• Week 3 was used to finalise the project; this took the form of further advice by technicians for some, meeting with institutions and producers for others.
